Celtics Top Mavs in Game 1 of NBA Finals
Tatum, Brown Lead Boston to Victory
JASON TATUM MADE FIVE 3-POINTERS and scored 32 points and the Boston Celtics hammered Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks 119-110 on Thursday, June 2, 2024, to win Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Doncic had 20 points in the first quarter and finished with 36, while Jaylen Brown scored 41 for the Celtics. Boston won 64 games in the regular season and has home-court advantage against the Mavs.
Said Celtics coach Ime Udoka: “We just have to stay focused and play together. We know they are a good team, but we’re confident in our abilities.” Said Mavs coach Jason Kidd: “We have to give them credit. They played better than us tonight. But we’ll learn from this and come back stronger in Game 2.”
Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Sunday, June 5, in Boston.
